▲ The Great Baekje World Festivall of 2010 will be planned with a focus on the culture and foreign exchanges of ancient kingdoms. Modern people will take a cultural journey to the past around ancient kingdoms and experience the greatness of ancient people and the diachronic nature of history.

A festival of history and culture of an ancient kingdom, the Great Baekje World Festivall will be held for 32 days from September 15 to October 17, 2010 and invite all the people around the world.

One of Korea’s ancient kingdoms, Baekje started cultural exchanges with other countries in East Asia including China and Japan both on land and by sea and grew into a global nation in the fourth century. The Baekje culture is characterized by a “natural beauty” that encompasses simple, humble, sophisticated, and generous qualities. Based on its cultural openness and capacity, it spread its original culture to its neighbors.

Presenting the life, culture, history, and things of Baekje that lasted over 700 years according to modern senses, the Great Baekje World Festivall has been evolving to become an international history and culture festival that can be enjoyed by people all around the world. Festival Programs

Main Programs
- A water festival to tell the history of Baekje with the river.
- Creating diverse images of natural scenery on a huge screen.
- Creating a fantasy drama based on the foundation of Baekje, historical figures and major events.
- A media art show to project the splendid images of Baekje’s cultural heritage onto a water screen.

Programs for the Opening and Closing Ceremony
- A Baekje-style religious ceremony to Heaven with the perfect reproduction of the clothes, performances and procedures of ancient Baekje.
- All kinds of traditional Baekje cultural performances and flame performance of ancient patterns.

Exhibition and Digital Film Programs
- The historic cities of 20 countries will participate in putting up a show on the theme of each city’s history.
- About 150 pieces of Baekje artifacts will be gathered from Korea, Japan, and China and be open to the public.
- The artifacts and construction technologies of Baekje will be reproduced perfectly with 3D digital technology.

Experience Baekje History
- Under the goal of exploring and experiencing the history and life of Baekje, the festival will present an experience of finding cultural assets, reproduce an ancient Baekje garden, restore the buildings and life of the Baekje royal palace, reenact the enthronement and wedding ceremony of Baekje kings, and reenact a banquet to welcome foreign envoys.

Performances
- A parade performance of foreign nations that exchanged with Baekje to represent “Great Baekje of Maritime Exchanges.”
- A large mounted party parade of the Baekje generals and soldiers before war.
- Reenactment of a Baekje combat with 1,000 participants.
