Chungnam Welcoming Adolescents from Vietnam andCambodia

Young students from Long An of Vietnam and Siem Reap of Cambodia, two of the cooperative partners of the Province, visited Chungnam to participate in the program organized by the Chungnam Youth Development Center led by Koo, Bon-Chung, the Lieutenant Governor for Administrative Affairs. The group of 27 people including 11 students from Long An, 10 students from Siem Reap, stayed in Chungnam for five days from 3 September. They experienced both cultural and industrial aspects of Chungnam by visiting various industrial and cultural sites including the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute, Hyundai Asan Motor Plant, Geological Museum, Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan, Hyunchungsa Temple, Oeam Folk Village in Asan, Baekje Cultural Land, and Chungnam Traditional Performing Art Center. Especially in the Multicultural Family Support Center of Cheonan and Youth Welfare Center of Gongju, they met with multicultural families and Korean students and shared friendship.


One of the group members said, “I could understand much about the history and culture of Chungnam, visiting various industrial sites and facilities,” adding, “I will take the lead in promoting the excellent culture of Korea and Chungnam that I learned and experienced through this program.”

Young Namgung the Executive Director of Economy and Commerce Office, said, “This invitational program is expected to lay the foundation for not just strengthening partnership with the local governments but also nurturing talents friendly to Korea by providing students from Vietnam and Cambodia an opportunity to experience Chungnam.” He also added, “(The Provincial Office) will continue to develop various exchange programs with local governments who have set up a sisterhood relationship or cooperative partnership with Chungnam.”
