▲ Inauguration Ceremony of the Chungnam-Style M-Bus

On the 1st day, at Soonchunhyang University in Asan, the province held the inauguration ceremony for the Chungnam-Style M-Bus, where around 1,000 attendees, including Kim Tae-heum, the governor, and Kim Ki-seo, the chairman of the Construction and Firefighting Committee of the Provincial Assembly, participated.
 
Starting from the 2nd day, the Chungnam-Style M-Bus will be fully operational, benefiting university students and office workers commuting between Cheonan and Asan to the metropolitan area, in line with the 8th Provincial Administration's promise for enhanced mobility.
 
This bus follows a route starting from Soonchunhyang University and traveling through Gyeonggi Province's Pyeongtaek Jije Station. It passes through stations like Onyang Oncheon, BaeBang, Cheonan City Hall, Hanguk University, Gongju University, Daeheung-ri, Angung-ri, and Pyeongtaek Terminal.
 
A total of three buses will be deployed, operated respectively by Onyang Transportation and Asan Yeogak.
 
The first bus departs from Soonchunhyang University at 5:52 AM, and the last bus departs from Jije Station at 6:10 PM.
The interval between buses ranges from 35 to 70 minutes, and the one-way travel time is 83 minutes.
The total number of daily trips is 18.

The fare for usage is 2,000 KRW for adults, the same as the direct-seat type bus fare, and allows for free transfers within 30 minutes.
 
Especially when utilizing the economical transportation card, the Chungnam-Style M-Bus also enables free transfers to the metropolitan M-Bus routes.
 
It can be considered that one can travel from Cheonan and Asan to the capital region for just 2,000 KRW.
 
Additionally, this bus also provides access to the SRT (Super Rapid Train) at Jije Station, thus enhancing the variety of mass transit options for students and workers residing in the northwestern part of Chungnam, who commute to and from the capital region.
 
After the full operation starts on the 2nd day, the province plans to analyze usage trends and enhance bus routes and schedules based on user feedback.
 
In the long term, plans include establishing intercity bus routes connecting Cheonan to Seoul's Gangnam Station and Nambu Terminal, as well as introducing express routes for the Daejeon metropolitan area and the Greater Capital Area, in response to transportation demands.
 
During the event, activities progressed in the order of vehicle delivery ceremonies and bus boarding demonstrations.
At this occasion, Governor Kim stated, "More than 50,000 people travel from Chungnam to Seoul daily using public transportation," and expressed his hope that "the opening of the M-Bus will provide more diverse and convenient options for commuting and traveling."
 
Governor Kim added, "In the future, our province will also push forward with projects such as the Seohaean Expressway connecting the Chungcheong region, the Seohaean KTX connecting the Gyeongbu Line and the Seohaean Line, at an accelerated pace."
