▲ 2017 Chungnam Architecture and Public Design Culture Festival

“2017 Chungnam Architecture and Public Design Culture Festival”, an event that embodies the identity and history of the region, was held in Boryeong, the “Center of West Coast,” in a magnificent fashion in commemoration of its 10th anniversary.

At Boryeong Culture Center on the 2nd, Chungcheongnam-do held the opening ceremony of the “2017 Chungnam Architecture and Public Design Culture Festival” with more than 2,000 people in attendance including winners of the public design and architectural cultural contests, university students and citizens.

This cultural festival is hosted by the province, supervised by Chungnam Public Design Association and Chungnam Institute of Registered Architects, and sponsored by Chungcheongnamdo Office of Education, Chungnam Research Institute of City and Architecture, and Chungnam Public Design Center.

With the theme of “Movement of 動”, the 2017 Chungnam Architecture and Public Design Culture Festival, celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, was held in a compilation of various cultural events in architecture and public design in which citizens could participate until the 5th.

Major events included architectural culture contest, public design contest, 3D printing of structures, drone experience, ICT smart home experience, and artwork exhibits of architecture in films, all of which attracted viewers’ interests.

In addition, 22 diverse exhibit programs such as the top 100 buildings in the world, career exploration in architecture, architectural plan counseling, and face painting and caricatures were carried out in celebration of the 10th anniversary.

The Governor of Chungcheongnam-do said, “I hereby congratulate the 10th anniversary of Chungnam Architecture and Public Design Culture Festival, an event that has been actively communicating with the citizens of the province…This event is expected to allow the province to overcome and solve a variety of assignments and challenges that Chungnam is currently facing through design.”
