The 2022 Gyeryong World Military Culture
Expo will be held on the runway at Gyeryongdae from October 7th to
23rd.
Yu Byeong-hun, Secretary-General of the
Organizing Committee for the Gyeryong World Military Culture Expo 2022, held a
press briefing on March 21st to explain the progress of Expo
preparation.
The Expo will host official events and
hold exhibitions and experience programs under the theme of ‘K-Military, Peace
Harmony.’
Official events include an inauguration
ceremony, an opening ceremony, and a closing ceremony. Major events include a
military band and honor guard concert performance, a Black Eagles aerobatic
display, a friendship stage, a musical gala show, a military cosplay
competition, as well as a Gyeryongdae tour, Gyeryong Mountain climbing, a morale-boosting
concert, and a marathon.
Exhibition pavilions include the World Peace
Pavilion, the Korean Hope Pavilion, the Korean
National Defense Pavilion, the World Military Culture & Life Pavilion, the
Fourth Industrial Revolution Pavilion, and the Regional Industry Pavilion.
There will be various experience programs, such as riding on military
equipment, military camp training, and military scientific combat training.
Military bands from foreign countries will hold a parade.
The Organizing Committee appointed
broadcaster Choi Young-jae, who is a member of the TV program, The Iron Squad,
as an honorary ambassador for the Expo, and distributed promotional leaflets to
City Hall, the Provincial Office of Education, the Provincial Policy Agency,
and the Chungnam Government Complex in Naepo City.
