Chungcheongnam-do Province announced on the 21st that 8 tourist attractions in the province were selected for the '2025-2026 100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots in Korea'.
The 100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots in Korea is a project jointly conducted every two years by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization to select and announce tourist destinations by evaluating representativeness, attractiveness, etc., and this is the 7th time.
The selected sites in the province are: △Taean Kkotji Beach △Gongju Baekje Historic Areas (Gongsanseong Fortress, Royal Tombs of King Muryeong and Baekje Royal Tombs in Gongju) △Buyeo Baekje Historic Areas (Busosanseong Fortress, Gungnamji Pond) △Boryeong Daecheon Beach △Seosan Haemieupseong Fortress △Cheonan Independence Hall of Korea △Yesan Yedang Tourist Area (Yedang Lake Suspension Bridge & Musical Fountain, Yedang Lake Monorail) △Asan Hyeonchungsa Shrine.
In particular, the Gongju Baekje Historic Areas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can see the status of Baekje culture, and Taean Kkotji Beach, a famous sunset spot with a wide sandy beach and a spectacular sunset, achieved the feat of being selected for the 7th consecutive time.
With this selection, Buyeo Baekje Historic Areas have been listed on the 100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots in Korea 6 times, Boryeong Daecheon Beach 5 times, Seosan Haemieupseong Fortress 4 times, and Cheonan Independence Hall of Korea and Yesan Yedang Tourist Area 2 times.
Asan Hyeonchungsa Shrine, where the standard portrait of Admiral Yi Sun-sin is enshrined and national treasures such as the War Diary and swords are displayed, was included as a new tourist attraction.
The province plans to make efforts to promote the attractiveness of Chungnam tourism to domestic and foreign tourists by utilizing various publicity opportunities and benefits such as providing a 100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots certification plaque to the selected sites, promoting them on websites and social networks, and participating in Korea Tourism Organization events.
A provincial official said, "We will do our best to provide enjoyable memories and experiences to tourists visiting the province in 2025-2026 by promoting the development and promotion of tourism contents for the 100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots in Korea."
