Geumsan Insam is cultivated in its own unique way as it is planted densely and allowed to get enough sunshine. It is harvested when it contains the highest level of medical effects, from July and processed until October, and is therefore nicknamed "Summer Insam." Geumsan Insam (Summer Insam) contains the primary component of Saponin up to 5.2%, a much higher level than other types of ginseng. The outstanding medical effects of Geumsan Insam have been recognized and even written about in ancient Chinese books.
