The capital was moved from Hanseong (now called Seoul) to Ungjin (now called Gongju).
538AD (the 16th year of King Seong)
The capital was moved from Ungjin (now called Gongju) to Sabi (now called Buyeo).
660 AD (the 20th year of King Euija)
The kingdom of Baekje was conquered by the Silla-Dang forces. Ungjin Dodok-bu was organized.

1396 (the 4th year of King Taejo)
Yanggwang-do was split into two provinces, Gyeonggi-do and Chungcheong-do.
1505 (the 11th year of King Yeonsan)
Chungcheong-do was renamed to Chunggong-do.
1549 (the 4th year of King Myeongjong)
Chunggong-do was renamed to Cheonghong-do.
(After that, Chungcheong-do was renamed in several ways: Gongcheong-do, Chungcheong-do, Gonghong-do, Chunghong-do, and Gongchung-do).
1834 (the 34th year of King Sunjo)
Gongcheong-do was named again as Chungcheong-do.
Aug. 4, 1896 Reorganized from 8 provinces to 13 provinces (Chungnam was organized).
