
Anmyeondo is the 6th largest island in South Korea and has the largest number of swimming beaches such as Kkotji, Bangpo, and Sambong. Mogamju-namu tree (Koelreuteria Paniculata), a Natural Monument, and a pine-grove are located in Anmyeondo, all of which are very famous. Especially, the pine trees from Anmyeondo were used mainly for building a palace and temples from the Goryeo Dynasty through the Joseon Dynasty.
